I always thought this was a cool tank in both the cartoons and comic, but lacking as a toy. Steeler really doesn't fit well in his seat and I always thought there should be places for other figures to pop their heads out of (from inside the tank).
SO HAS ANYONE MODDED ONE? PS on another note anyone given HAVOC driver Cross Country any love in 25th form, love to see pics if so...... |

I am currently restoring the first of four MOBAT tanks, and intend to modify them only by adding exterior features(storage racks, antenna, ext.).
I've never disassembled mine, but if you did, you would need to take measurements on crew spacing, compartment size, then use something like a dremel mototool to do the cutting and finishing. Because the turret isn't complete, just the upper portion, you really wouldn't be able to properly fit a shooter/loader/cmdr in there. However, you may be able to insert a driver station if it doesnt interfere with the front drivetrain and motor assembly. hope this helps, feel free to ask any questions. |

There just isn't enough room in the vehicle to add hatches and make it look good. If you put figures in the front or hatches anywhere, they'll probably get hit by the turret when you move it.
I believe steve2477 just cut openings in the front in front of the turret for figures to sit in but there's no hatches. I have removed the battery compartment before and replaced the rear wheels with an extra set of front ones so that there is no motorization at all. I don't have that one anymore though. For my current Mobat, all I did was modify the turret so that Steeler sits lower. you can see it here: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ded-mobat.html Here's a few quick pics: There's more in the thread above.
