This week we'll be taking my own step-by-step approach on painting worn battle armor and working with metallics. You can find tons of other painting/metallic tutorials out there, especially on a lot of the custom and Gundam forums I have listed on my Links page. So this guide covers only the specific steps and techniques I personally use, so treat it as a set of guidelines only. Any scale of figure can be painted this way such as GI Joe, Marvel Legends, Transformers, even 1/6th scale.

nice tut Jin...i've been reading a few of them and they are quite helpful and well photographed...seeing all the steps you take helps explain the quality of your customs

Nice guide. Your tutorials a really helpful. I'll defintly use this to fix up the paint jobs on some of my figures. Thanks for posting.

I have yet to paint anything for myself; but, with instructions this well written, I think that I probably could.
Thanks for the guides. Maybe sometime in 2009 people will see a Money-B original.

nice tips, esp. the poor man's airbrush technique.
While a lot of the tips don't always apply to customizing joe figures/vehicles, i've found that 1/72 scale and 1/35 or 36 scale model sites have pretty good tips when it comes to painting and applying details. And now i'm totally drawing a blank for a good site to mention in this since there's a ton of them lol. |
