Question Answered, Current Project - Torturer Zartan

Current Project - Turn a Zartan figure into a proper torturer. Gonna have some generic figure from the power team elite line strapped to a chair, with another strapped onto a medical stretcher, with its chest tore open and blood everywhere. Not sure what to do from there, but the Zartan should hopefully fit in properly, looking for ideas on more to add to the scene though.

Old question below

I'm wanting to turn my Zartan into a sort of inquisitor/torturer, and I'm wondering what the best method would be for getting spots of blood on him, as if he took lets say a chainsaw to a Joe or something of the sort. I figured the Customs forum was the best place to ask this... my end plan is to have a diorama of a few dead people/limbs scattered about, with someone being wheeled in on a stretcher, with another strapped to a chair.

For the record - I don't plan on destroying real Joe figures to do this, the ones that come with those Power Team Elite vehicle sets will do. (Just nabbed a few for vehicles to repaint into Cobra colors. Got sick of the current limitations Hasbro has released.)

take a brush with the paint and tap the brush over the fig without the brush touching the fig. it will spray paint on it and the harder you tap more blood-spots and bigger and vise-versa

Alright, thanks! I thought something like that might work, but my painting experience outside of larger objects is fairly limited.

ive used paint pens, for this affect on paper. i push the tip into a peice of scrap whatever until the ink pools and then quickly blow on the tip of the pen and it makes nice splatters.

Did the same blood technique for a Custom Jason Voorhees figure. Now all I got to do is make a Halloween figure, I figure if I can get my hands on 2 Capt. Kirk heads I can customise one into Mike Myers and the other pop off the hood from my "ugh" SDCC black CC and make a figure of my father in law as a gag gift.

Status Update - It's a pain to saw through the Power Team Elite figures using a cheap multitool saw. :/

Ordered the props I need for the setup.

Another suggestion... Use an old toothbrush. Take your thumb and stroke down the bristles from front to back and it will spatter the paint evenly and effectivly.

It's what I use. I just water the paint down with future floor wax which helps bond the paint and from drying too fast.
