Hey...I'm looking to kitbash a modern-style update of the old-school original Overkill. You know, the green and gold one that came with the talking backback. I always dug the idea that he was a full-on robot as opposed to later takes on him where he was a cyborg. I also loved the cannons hidden under his chest plate.
So, any suggestions as to what parts of what figures might work will be appreciated, especially when it comes to the chest cannons. I have several 25th BATs to cannibalize (regular, Resolute, and Jungle), and I'd love to incorporate some stuff from the original Overkill figure itself (I'm trying to track one down...anyone?). Any tips or suggestions? Thx!

i have been thinking about this myself but the chest cannon always throws me. i think the bat arms would be useable but nothing else. or maybe you could use major bludd for a arm or maybe modify another one of his right arms so you could have a right and a left. i think the roc delta-6 accelerator suit duke might be worth a look. as far as the head maybe the wraith mask with some slight modding do to it will work.
i think it would be cool if you could use some terminator salvation endo-skeleton for parts also. you might even consider some of the star wars droids for a bit of help not really sure i haven't seen anything but maybe you will. look forward to seeing what you come up with |

i have been thinking what if the chest cannon was not a part of the figure but maybe a part of armor instead. what if you use a elite viper body armor vest and the rig something up as the cannon and cover. just an idea

All great suggestions, dude! I didn't even think of using any Terminator stuff for the figure...I'll keep you posted as to my progress.
Anyone else?

I don't remember that version, but I was trying to bash up one based on VVV (I think that was it) using ROC Accelerator Suit arms (mod the shoulder pads)...

How compatible are the figure parts in Hasbro's other other toy lines (Marvel, Star Wars) with GI Joe figures?

For the chest guns you could use the armor add on from the MK III Iron Man figure. It has panels over his shoulders that covers "sonic cannons", or "repulsor cannons".
Remember you're doing an upgraded/ modernized version, and we all know that nothing says upgrade like incorporating Stark Tech into your systems.

Hmm...interesting. It's also a coincidence that you mention Iron Man, since I'm just now looking at IM2 figures. Actually, I'm seeing some potential with IM2 War Machine...but this chest cannon add-on for Iron Man MK III might have possibilities. Thanks!
Keep 'em coming!
