Okay, I was taking apart a 25th FANG. I got to the part were I was going to split the main body. SNAP! I have a nice crack on the lefts side fuselage from the bottom where the skids go in, up the sideuntil about the mid point from the seet to the engine. It does not go over the fuel cap.
Is there a good way to fuse this together and smooth it out? I will be painting over it anyway.

I'm no professional Joe vehicle repairman, but I've cracked many a Gundam model in my day.
two methods off the top of my head 1. model putty, fill the crack, let it dry, sand it down and paint. 2. I prefer liquid model glue, like the Tamiya stuff. brush it into the crack and have enough to where it oozes out a bit. Let it dry a couple days, then sand it down, buff it out and paint over it. |

Aves Apoxie sculpt. Wonderful! Works as filler, or can even create tabs. Hardens like plastic, and can be sanded and painted afterward. It's as near perfect as you can get without casting. And it cures in just 24 hours.

Thanks guys. looks like I'm making the Joe equivelent to a "bondo bucket" now.
I'm just glad I didn't break it clean in half. They used some sort of super 'duper' glue to fuse the two main pieces together. Any recommendations on how I may finish splitting this thing open without causin any more destruction? I guess I can hand paint the whole thing, I just thought it would be easier to paint the pieces seperatly (and faster).

I took apart one of these to paint it. Yeah, the glue is a bitch to break apart. i think I used the dangerous but effective "twist and pop" method. I would insert the blade of an exacto into whatever seam or crack I could and i would carefully but firmly see if i could twist the blade and pop the seams open. For the posts inside, I think I had to cut those if they didnt pop free. There are enough surface areas to securly glue it back together if you have to cut the pegs.
