I want to replace the legs on my Arctic Snakeeyes with Shipwreck legs, but then the lower body (crotch) wouldn't match. I know no one really sees that part, but I would know it doesn't match.
Is there a way to replace the crotch and legs? Or would doing so compromize the strength of the entire figure? And the "skirt" that forms the lower part of the coat, is this removable? |

Well, you can probably pry the skirt off to repaint the crotch area, then glue it back on. Use an exacto knife to do a clean job getting it off. I don't know why you'd want to use that set of legs with that torso, but then again you didn't explain what kind of custom you're working on. I wouldn't think anything would be compromised by a simple leg swap. Super-easy to do.

step 1: saw the waist off each figure.
step 2: glue the waist from the one figure onto the other. step 3: call a psychiatrist. you are far to obsessive if you are concerned about the appearance of a part that you'll never see. |

my leg swap wasnt gonna work for my terminator! i used cp ss crotch an the tru ff legs, an the left one rubbed pretty bad, couldnt close it for nuttin an if i wouldve painted it it would been a mess, most the time leg swap should be simple, but this one i had to break out a dremel, , it was my first time ever usin one, an i love em. it trimmed down the inner crotch an inner top of leg, an its looks profesional when you use a dremel!

Thanks for the replies. To answer why I want to do this combo, it's for a custom. I'm doing a pair of characters from the movie "The Thing", and this character wears jeans. The closest figure that has anything like normal pants is Shipwreck.
I've only got one shipwreck, and I could use the lower body/legs from an Indiana Jones figure, but that would mean having the cut off his lower body/legs because the artic Snakeeyes and IJ have incompatible leg pieces. I'd have to do a complete switch on the lower halves. |
