i have yet to try this as i don't have the tools...thanks for the walk thru
i use Deckards vice method that has yet to fail me, and it's free (assuming you already have a vice)...plus it takes as long as wrapping the figure in a soft cloth and slowly closing the vice... |

Thanks for the tutorial! This is basically the method I use. As I just mentioned in another thread, the Flint/Duke upper torso will crack if you are patient and don't mind striking the figure for a minute or so (but not too hard).

Your right BA, he did. Unfortunately neither I nor the majority of folks here were in attendance for that seminar, so I had to figure it out based on that really bad YouTube video and thought I'd try to help out here with some clear pics. I wish I would have been able to sit in that meeting, but I was too busy moving stuff back upstairs at the hotel from my seminar that was right before it. As you say, I sure wish I would have seen it then, if nothing else to save the parts that were destroyed trying to figure it out.
As for the vice method, it's the same principle, it's just the last time I checked a table vice is quite a bit more expensive than a $25 hammer and a pair of Channel-Locks has gripped teeth and padding or no padding I don't trust them not to mar the plastic. As for the rest of you, I hope this helps out. If you've found a better method, go take some pictures and post your own tutorial thread for folks to see. |
