What should I use?

Ok, if I were to cut the cockpit off of a HISS v1. What tool would be the best to do this?

I'd use a coping saw with a fine toothed blade. There may be a better option but I've done it before and it worked pretty well.

Well it should be hollow enough to use a dremel to cut it off and some files to clean up the edges.

Sorry, I lied. I remembered I couldn't find my coping saw and used this: 413S586EGEL__SL500_AA280_.jpg (image)

I wanted to use my dremel but I either didn't have the right tools or the know how to get in between the cockpit section and the back end to cut where I needed to.

Thanks for the responses. I'm about to try and rip off this idea here

Then tweak it somewhat. Btw, does the vintage HISS accomodate 25th/ME figs?

This is a jewelers saw. very fine teeth and a nice blade edge. I used to use this to cut metal Miniatures for 40K when i did customs, but now that they are all multi part plastics.. the need for such is obsolete. LOL

That saw should do the trick for what your needing. They can be found at most well stocked hobby stores.

Yes and no... It really all depends what is on the side of the figures legs.. if they have no holster, knife or big pockets then yes, they will fit. Just look at the early 25th Hiss tanks. The only tooling done to them was to the pegs on the back.. The driver fits, he is just snug. LOL

i'd use a hack saw, or like said a coping saw, a coping saw would give you the advantage to do curves, that is what the saw is made for.

that saw above me, is just bad ass, i would like to use that on the dude next doors house..
