I'm just curious as to what customizers around here use for super glue and if it matters what kind?
I'm mainly wondering since I have yet to attempt to crack open some figures for custom ideas of which obviously to put back together need to use super glue. |

I use the Krazy Glue Brand, not only is it a good brand but it had a nice cap with a pin on it that keeps the opening from getting clogged up.

I wonder sometimes does Krazy Glue or any Type of super glue Damage the plastics on joes? I've only done it once on a wobbly leg Cobra trooper still no problems but i could see where I applyed the Glue which had me concerned.

I use extra-thick Maxi-Cure Cyanoacrylate (aka CA). Bonds quickly, dries rock solid, and fills gaps. You don't even have to make the two pieces have matching parts. And it easily bonds soft rubbery plastics like webbing. When I had a Transformer disintegrate from using paint thinner on it, I CA'd all the little bits together and now he functions like he'd never fallen apart. Might even be stronger than the original plastic.
You can find it at good hobby shops like RC or train hobby stores. I used to use various brands of superglue/krazyglue, but nothing compares to thick CA. It also comes with a dropper nose and a lock on cap that prevents it from clogging/hardening. Good stuff. Buy it. You won't be sorry. |
