TRU Hawk full Body
Armadillo/Steeler Head + Webgear Cobra Trooper Hands That should be a quik and dirty servicable Steeler. Anybody got the parts to help me decide before I buy the parts? What's the best way to get the Tampo Colonel insignia off Hawk's helmet? And what to do about the visor! |

this could work...i don't have the parts to show and tell though...to get the insignia off the helmet simply switch out his helmet for a insignialess one...and adding a classic Steeler visor over it would hide it anyhow

I found an Armadillo today and tried it. My pictures suck from my phone though. The only issue atm is the waist section of the belt is about 1/8 too small.

if you can find some paint that matches (there is a Tamiya paint that does, almost exactly, cause i used Hawks arms on my Steeler and the paint matches perfect, not sure the name of the color though) and panit over the buttons and badges...
aside from that it looks pretty good, and obviously quite simple... to get the belt to fit, take a razor and gently shave off the hip pouches on Hawks molded belt...that should do the trick |

If you can afford the parts, I think a Wild Bill/Ace torso, upper arms, Cobra trooper lower arms and hands, and Hawk/whoever legs would be pretty close (save the knife sheath...do any current upper legs have no holsters/knives and two pouches on the outer leg?) Then use the Armadillo Steeler head and shoulder holster.
If I could ever successfully disassemble a 25A figure, I'd try this myself |

I tried this, and in my opinion, Steeler's head sits too low on the Hawk neck. I think Hawk's head sits too low too. And yes, you will have to modify Hawk's waist for the web gear to fit. If you notice, all the waists for the original thirteen are smaller so their web gear doesn't stick out too far. That's why most of them don't look right without a belt.

If you were wondering, this is how the original Steeler visor looks on the new Steeler.

Hey, I've been working on a custom Steeler figure myself after finally getting the one in the vehicle pack.
Well, I've been gathering the parts anyway as I suck at the whole customizing thing (painting is not my strong suit) to hopefully get someone to do up for me. Anyway, I've got the Wild Bill torso and upper arms, Cobra trooper lower arms and Duke legs for my version. Unfortunately, the Hasbro make Steeler's belt is a bit too short for the WB/Ace torso, so I'm trying to figure out how to remedy that. Even the Snake Eyes/Stalker/etc belt is too small. About the only one so far that has wrapped around the WB/Ace torso great is the Red Star belt. |
