Hello fellow customizers,
I had a question about something that's been bugging me for some time. How do you mix your paints to get a consistent color? A problem I have, is I'll mix only enough for the first coat, and then when I need to make more it's usually off by a tint. I use Testors Acrylic/Tamiya, etc. Do you suggest using maybe a medicine dropper to get better measurements, or...? Thanks guys! |

I try to mix plenty for the job, and often I'll do it in a small jar with a lid so it'll keep. Baby food jars have worked for me.

you can use film canisters for storage too. They do not last forever but it should keep the paint fresh long enough

I buy glass jars from a hobby shop so I can mix plenty of paint. It also helps to write down how much of each paint you mix in so you can mix more later. I just eye-ball the measurements (1/2, 1/3, 1/4, etc.)

I used a medicine dropper to mix paint. It works for me. I use Tamiya acrylic paints.

I use the bubble from the single pack to hold my mixed paint. I pour as much as I need in the bubble for the figure and when I'm not using it I put the top outer bubble over it. The bubble is air tight enough that the paint does not dry out.

Try using a Badger paint mixer/stirrer. It's a handheld battery powered rotary tool that runs at low speed and has a flat corrugated tip to mix your paints in the jar.
