Hi all,
I finally ordered some green stuff to try my hand at sculpting for my customs. Something that's intimidated me before now. As it turns out, I really enjoy it! What I'm looking for is some honest feedback, either good or bad. I want to improve my skills in this. I'd also welcome any tricks or techniques any of you want to share. None of these are "finished" figures. (But Breaker and Shipwreck probably won't change any). mostly they're practice, that will become figures in time. Bearded Breaker wasn't even intended to be him, but once I put the head on his body, it just seemed to work. So please, critique away. And don't shy away from constructive criticism - I welcome it! Thanks all! Last edited by MrClean; 08-03-2008 at 07:49 PM.. |

I like it. I've been told that if you mix vaseline with the green stuff it will become less tacky. Your sculpting looks great you should share your secretes with us. Like a pic of what tools you use. I've only dabbled with it but I keep seeing great stuff and endless possibilities with it. I casted the cobra symbol from VvsV Mindbender's arm. totally awesome.

For your first time at sculpting, that's DAMNED good! I wish I had been that good my first time around! It was a Marvel Legends Captain America that I turned into a Viper (1986 style). The concept was good enough and pretty easy for the most part but when I pulled it out the other day, I wanted to throw it in the trash. I almost did, but my wife said that she was proud of it because it was the first one I had done after we got married. So, I gave it to her and now it's in her curio cabinet with all of our wedding stuff.

Wow you could have fooled me. I would have never guessed that was your first attempt at sculpting. I wouldn't say it's begginer's luck. You just have talent. Keep up the great work.
