Custom Skyhawk VTOL WIP

Working on a custom skyhawk that the current joes can sit in. I dremeled off the peg in the seat, and cut away the control area from the cockpit canopy. The only way a 25th Anniversary Joe can sit, is with his knees bent, so it had to go.

I've also removed all the stickers and repainted it with Tamiya's Olive green. After I've added the new stickers, I'll start weathering.

Paint job looks nice. For me, I would have tried to preserve the control area. It's too late now, but I think if you bend the ankle in a certain way, the figure would fit. I remember seeing a picture in the 25th compatibility thread but I can't remember if the canopy was closed completely.

However, he doesn't look as natural as how Flash looks in yours.

Well, the guy was right...even with the backpeg removed, it still needed modding. But, I didn't mind, I picked it up for 6 bucks. I'm doing the decals now, so I'll have some more pics up later.

i would figure out a way to incorporate the guitar pick in the custom............lol

I finished this up this morning. I painted the engines using Tamiya's Gun Metal, and added the decals. I then added scuff marks with silver, which I think I overdid a bit. Did some washes with browns, and then airbrushed some black.

Very very nice!! Your paint apps actually make it look it's made out of metal.
