This one's been a long time coming. I think I've had this one planned and in some stage of completion for over a year and a half.
I finally got the Tri-Gate head in, and I'll say, it's a damn fine cast. Without it, the custom just wouldn't be Lifeline. And this sucker's only got red painted in two places: The head, and the lower arms (to match the rest of the red more closely). He's got two of the worst colors to paint: red, and white. And I managed to keep a pretty playable figure, with minimal paint wear. And then, there's that lettering... Last edited by Mandingo Rex; 09-17-2010 at 02:28 AM.. |

And a shot at the detailed lettering work, which besides painting the head, and finding a 95% paint-free figure, is my favorite/proudest part of this sucker:
I will say, I didn't paint it. My hands are super shaky to do that sort of detail work. What I did do (and this is where my college courses in hand-cut typography came in handy) is cut out the lettering from a very thin, adhesive white vinyl, meticulously placed them on the leg, adjusted them, and then heated the lettering so the adhesive would hold, and finally added 5-6 coats of clear to the leg. |

That's simply perfect.
Probably the sharpest LL i've seen, mostly cos you managed to use parts already casted in red, and painted a perfect flat on the rest. The leg letters are something to be proud, indeed!

My favorite part is that he's almost all factory red plastic. Even the head came cast in a red, with a slight magenta hue to it. I technically wouldn't have needed to paint it, but decided to match the reds a little closer. As for the upper arms, I just stripped off the flesh paint from the elbows, and just matched the red on the lowers a bit better, although that crimson Strato-Viper is pretty close. The lower arms in some of the pics look darker, but in person the colors are almost spot-on. And thanks for the comments on the lettering, haha. That part turned out amazingly well for what I expected may happen. To get 2 "E"s that were that consistent and keeping all the letters placed until I finally got them to adhere was the toughest part. |

I don't see any way that this could have been better. You really knocked this one out of the park!
