Due to popular request, here is my version of Pyramid of Darkness' Fatal Fluffy, in cute n' cuddly pre-monster form!
Actually, that's a lie, since I was working on one since before I finished its monstrous twin, and the requests were not all that popular. Now, I love Pyramid of Darkness. It is shockingly ridiculous from its opening minutes, and continues its marathon of insanity and 80s cheese throughout its entirety. The small Fatal Fluffy is a prime example of this. It's like the most popular early 80s family sci-fi/fantasy films went binge drinking, and this is what their combined hangover vomit looked like: A hybrid Ewok-Mogwai-E.T. thing. I'm amazed they didnt try to push merchandise of this thing. Back to the toy, I began sculpting as a solid PVC type thing, but halfway through I scrapped it in favor of some articulation and an existing foundation. Appropriately, I pretty much murdered a 1983 Kenner Wicket the Ewok, chopping off his unarticulated head, hands and most of the legs. The head, back, legs, feet, and lower arms are sculpted. The hands were cut and stolen from a 90s Happy Meal Toy of the Spidey's friend/wife MaryJane Watson, to avoid fragile, sculpted fingers, and because I hated that toy. I had tried to cheat and keep the stubby Ewok hands, but after painting I realized that vintage Wicket had an arm that was noticeably longer than the other. I think it turned out okay, given that it mas more of a pain that I had anticipated and that I've just realized a Gizmo toy with cut of ears would have yielded similar results. As with my 2 previous custom threads, http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...st-custom.html http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...r-monster.html I've enlisted toy actors for a dramatic reenactment of the monster's crime, and I've also got a pic of several customs and WIPs Thanks for checking out my phony fuzz monster! |
