GI JOE:
In 2005 seeing the folly that has beset the US counter terrorism war the JCS initiates a new counter-terrorism team to be run off the books and with the utmost secrecy. Liaisons from allied nations will be requested and accepted. Each member will be a specialist in their fields, the best. In turn they will cross train other team members in their particular art of war. The team will be a counter terrorism, intelligence, counter intelligence powerhouse, able to handle crisis and situations that require a scalpel and not the broadsword that is the US military. After the surge in Iraq it was never released to the public that there were many European, Asian, African, and North and South American insurgents killed. An odd logo began to tie these odd Middle East insurgents together, along with a name… Cobra. G.I. Joe has been tasked with intel gathering and the quick eradication of this rising yet unknown cause.
SNAKE EYES:
Commando/Martial Arts Trainer
Following a tragic accident during Operation Enduring Freedom with the 75th Rangers SOG but, prior to the formation of GI Joe, Snake Eyes begins to focus on his ninja skills as his primary combat asset and his commando skills secondary. Until this time he rarely used his ninjutsu and martial art skills unless completely necessary, preferring to use modern combat and firearms. No longer able to communicate verbally he develops a lone wolf operator status, turns to his martial art background and is recruited by the CIA. During OIF
SE as a CIA operative was responsible for apprehending or killing many of the most wanted individuals as depicted in a card deck of most wanted Iraqi officials. His background is shrouded in mystery.
SE was recruited by Duke to join the new anti-terrorism team G.I. Joe on the recommendation of another team member, Stalker.
DUKE:
Senior NCO/First Sergeant
Duke is a tactical expert. He uses his team members in ways and efficiency that boggle the mind. Duke has served in every major US campaign since Operation Just Cause in Panama in 1989 as a buck private. Desert Storm, Somalia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq and others. Prior to being tasked with the formation of G.I. Joe Duke was working with Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (SFOD-D). Often referred to as D-boys Duke worked with the 75th Rangers in Afghanistan which is where he met Stalker.
STALKER:
Ranger/Sergeant 1st Class
Not much to say about Stalker. He is a soldier incarnate, Warrior Class. Participated in JROTC in high school. When the towers fell, instead of waiting 4 years to finish college and receive a commission he enlisted the day he left high school. He graduated top of his basic company, meritorious promotion out of basic, infantry school and Ranger school. Fastest promotion to Sergeant 1st Class I have ever seen. He is both technically and tactically proficient in counter-insurgency, infantry ops, airborne ops, underwater ops and almost every firearm/vehicle we or the bad guys operateServed with Snake Eyes and Duke on separate occasions. He is respected by both and the converse is true as well. Knows
SE best of all and will be the glue that keeps this fledgling squad together.
