I decided to take advantage of the Toys R Us sale on Rise of Cobra figures, but the store I was at was pretty well picked over and I only saw three that I wanted. So I picked up the Destro since I've been wanting to do a Red Skull custom from it pretty much since I first saw it on the pegs.
All that you see is the Destro figure. I repainted the upper torso and gave him a Lugar from my Henry Jones, Sr. figure. The head is sculpted right on top of the Destro head using Loctite Epoxy Putty. The armband was made using the same putty. Ultimately this took me about an hour to complete. I want to add more as everything dries and I look more into German uniforms. The best part is that Red Skull matches up to Captain America pretty well now! |

The head is the original Destro head that has had Loctite epoxy resin added to it. This stuff is not unlike Miliput in that it has two parts that you kneed together to make a putty that you can sculpt with. You don't have a lot of time to work since it dries in about 4 minutes. It can be bought at Walmart in the home improvement aisle (plumbing).

I thought the same thing, except that I'm using the Montezuma skull from the DVD set with a Red Star hat and a Marauder Luger.
Nice job on the Skull. The legs could work for a Rocketeer custom too. |
