Up next are two small Joe builds - one early era and one late era.
Badger towing the Mountain Howitzer by Magnus-L, on Flickr "G.I.Joe fields a number of jeeps and light wheeled vehicles, fast and well-armed and ideal for special operations. The Badger is a compact, but very powerful and rugged single seat vehicle, designed specifically for towing heavy weapons while offering solid protection to its driver. It mounts a winch behind the front bumper and a particularly robust suspension system and carries a remote operated heavy machine gun for self-defense." HMG raised by Magnus-L, on Flickr "G.I.Joe fields several very sophisticated self-propelled artillery systems, equipped with autoloading mechanisms, offering protection to their crews, and capable of rapid shoot-and-shoot style firing. But their weight and size comes with a price. The basic field gun still is essential for a fast-moving unit. The Mountain Howitzer can be towed behind any number of vehicles and can also be airlifted to high elevations inaccessible by road. Its effective rate of fire ultimately depends on how drilled a given gun crew is, so many Joes put in time getting familiar with the system. The Mountain Howitzer packs a solid punch with 105mm shells, including High Explosive, Smoke, and Illumination." Mountain Howitzer by Magnus-L, on Flickr |
