Finally finished this guy, and man he took some time.
Every corner hand painted , and wanted to give him a retro style helmet along with a modern battle damaged helmet. Both fit over his baclava head. Retro jet pack and golden laser have been given the spa treatment. I also did a side by side of an old 1988 version: I’d rather you give me criticism then credit. That’s what helps me really grow learn and become better.

The blues are off? Seriously, buddy, nothing to criticize on this one.

Wow! Cool battle damage! And you painted the pins on the grenades.

Looking good! I don't know why, but I prefer the oversized original helmet... Maybe just being nostalgic, but I think the helmet works for an astronaut.

Slice, why don't you do a fucked up custom so we can criticize you, lol.
But seriously, I know the face shield on the figure is blue, but I noticed on the card art is that goldish color. I wonder how it would turn out if you made it to look like the card art. Last edited by sbartek1974; 04-06-2020 at 02:17 PM.. |

I can't criticize this! It's a great representation and update of the figure. I suppose the only thing missing is the red Destro logo on the strap that goes across his chest and the use of blue rather than black for his torso. Not really a criticism as much as it is a difference between the original and your great custom.

I though about that gold tinted blast shield but the color combo made it look off. Funny you say that Becuase I usually make my customs based of card art and comic art and not so much the figure.

the only thing I would change is put some flat black around the exhaust ports. I've seen some of the Apollo capsules and they are all kinda burnt up around the jet ports
