My take on the Range Vipers' leader and his pet fox.

For me, I appreciate the effort, and design. Maybe work on the type of paint you used so it doesn’t thicken.
It looks like enamel gloss(testors?) which is super tough to work with in detail. ( I speak on this from experience) If that’s all you got the make a homemade reducer to thin it out and get more bang for your buck. If you need some help on the right types of paint for certain figures shoot me a PM. Glad to help.

Thanks for the critique.
This was one of those figures that took forever, and kept changing direction as the build went along. The neck is much too small (tried to cheat it w a Clone Wars neck instead of using up one of my remaining cast ones) and the shawl doesn't really drape over the shoulders correctly. The paints are acrylic, but where I screwed up was taking it too far. The uniform was supposed to be mustard, but too much wash turned everything much too dark. To reverse that, I tried some dry brushing, but that didn't help. By this point, some of the detail was getting lost (like the texture of the webgear), so I added gloss to bring back the detail. And then more gloss, because it wouldn't "even out". Not every figure lands, so to speak, but I try to learn from the build. On the upside, I was happy with the fox. |

Thanks! Playmobil animals are awesome.
I think it's a SR head, but I'm not sure. It's a cast from starwarsgeek, who doesn't always label the heads with the source names. It seems like he's eased up on that recently, but many of the older heads have names like "male head #53" or whatever this was listed as. starwarsgeek does great cast work. I used to do most of my own cast work, but now I just see what swg already has in stock and I can usually find something that gets me 95% of where I wanted to go. |
