This is one that I wanted to do for a long time but couldn’t figure out how to really get started. Wanted to love the version Hasbro gave us but I just couldn’t. My favorite version of Cobra Commander growing up since this is the one that I got to use the most so he was constantly leading my Cobras.
I started with a casted head which forced me to paint eyes for the first time and also to work on a flesh tone paint mix, love how the results came out. Then I used a Marauder black German blank that I drilled holes into for his pistol & knife holsters. Added some silver accents to the buttons, shoulders, belt and the stripes down the pant legs & on his boots. Then I took the strap from a junker Iron Grenadier that I had and chromed it. Battle Corps Cobra Commander

Very nice CC H&R. Great homage to the older version.

That’s pretty tight, buddy. That was my favorite CC as a yute.

CC looks amazing! That's personally my favorite CC design as the black outfit is more menacing and makes him look like he will be taken more seriously.

Thanks! Kept thinking about just maybe tweaking the Hasbro version but really happy I went all in and rebuilt him from scratch.

I started him without having the o-ring by my desk which is why some things aren’t an exact recreation, the gloves being one of them. I kept looking at them while doing the different parts and then would forget to circle back to check if regular MTF gloved hands were compatible with the WW2 arms. Swapping out to gloves / painting the hands black & adding a small Cobra emblem to his torso were the two changes that I may make to him down the road. The gloves I just forgot about until I set up for the pictures and the emblem I just don’t have right now. As always, thanks for the comments / suggestions! I appreciate them.

Haha, now I’m sort of kicking myself for not blaring AC/DC while doing the photos! Thanks again!
Next up we’ll continue with the Battlecorps Cobra leadership and do another figure who I used a ton back in the day. I think I like the original Bludd more but this was the one I always ended up using. I always loved the spike that he had when bending his arm, no idea how that hasn’t gotten snapped over the years because many Joes were at the receiving end of that. Full Marauder build with a little paint & chrome addded, then a full painted casted head. Another where I was able to get the eye done on the first attempt. My attempts after these first two guys haven’t been as successful. Haha.

Not my favorite version of Bludd, but the custom came out decent. Kudos for taking the time and effort to build this one!
