the triangular Red Shadows skull and crossbones logo was used on the packaging for all of the vehicles (prolly the figures too, I didn't check on BFTB) and was used on both the Roboskull and the Laser Exterminator. The ones on the rear of the Hyena look more circular.

When Cap linked me to a picture of the 12 inch Action Man Ground Assault figure I noticed the Arctic Assault had a hood in 12 inch form which I preferred to the helmet he had in 3 3/4 inch form so I have updated the figure.

It was a variant style of logo stickers that Cobrastickers (as they were called back in the day) used to put out. There may be another history to them, but that is where I know them from.
Yes I am sure they are, but I bought them when they were dirt cheap with the intention of customising, I just never got around to doing anything with them. Is that all the episodes they made, I remember watching it back in the day, but haven't seen it since. Yeah it never made double numbers for the first season, Shame, it’s as good as Knight Rider, if not better! Cobrastickers, oh I’ve heard of them, been to their site here and there, not had the pleasure of buying off em yet though, so they basically made up that red triangle logo, pretty cool idea, how good our their stickers quality? .......Anyways, looks awesome on your Desert Fox that’s for sure dude! Ya know now every time I see a Desert Fox I’m thinking Shadowtrack now lol, when u look at a Desert Fox the actual image hits u in the face, the wheels and everything, great idea man! ;) I just so gotta get me a Desert Fox now and make one myself ha! Oh yeah, the hood looks even better on him and lovin the classic head on your Muton too, can’t beat a bit of classic! Last edited by LEEE777; 05-17-2020 at 11:35 AM.. |

Ahhh, didn’t know they used to sell the Funskool Streethawk bikes first cheap, I was out the loop many years back then because of all DC/Marvel 6 inch craze I was on, damn I still would of probably bought one back then, love that show, not paying 300plus or whatever it is now lol for one lol.

Oh yeah, the hood looks even better on him and lovin the classic head on your Muton too, can’t beat a bit of classic! When I first got back into buying GI Joe again the Funskool stuff was really cheap, I bought lots of the figures and vehicles for customs. Cobrastckers (or I believe Hoyhax now, there is a link to them in the Sponsors at the top of the page) stickers are excellent quality. Although I bought so much stuff from them back in the day that I still have loads now and haven't had to buy anything in years. I find that the Desert Fox is expensive to buy, and the gun and missiles really don't take paint well. I probably should have made them red as they were orange anyway and it wouldn't have shown up as much when the paint chips. |

Yeah man, that artic hood look is stellar, great thinking!
Yeah been browsing cobtastickers (Hoyhax), got some cool stuff, awesome, yeah I guess it pays to buy a good lot then u don’t get stung with the shipping which us international lot normally does. :P Yeah I so gotta get me a Desert Fox, I think though if you painted the gun, missiles red, maybe it would of been too much red going on? Think the way you did it was pretty much perfect, yeah chipping a pain but can always touch it up? |

Your Arctic Assault figure is "cool"! (Pun intended)
It's nice seeing the variety of ways people use the MTF figures to recreate the multitude of figures from over the decades. Your thread is full of great examples of this! -Todd Shakka85

I agree the shadowtrak may have ended up too red (which is why I went with black), just trying to warn people that those parts do not take paint well and are more prone to chipping/flaking so red may be another option Thanks, it is good seeing all the threads with MTF customs (include yours which I always enjoy) |

I was making myself a second Kraken and I made a few slight tweaks with nods to elements on the torso of the original figure, so if anyone wants to see what they both look like now:
The original is back on page 7 http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...f-style-7.html |
