Here's the page...
Ripcord does mention the briefing that Duke is going to give in 10 minutes in the PIT. And then later you see the briefing taking place. So it's definitely Duke. Although I'm use to seeing Hawk wearing that type of shirt with that collar. |

Hawk did wear a similar outfit in an earlier issue. It's the issue with the red & white checkerboard floor scene. However, looking at that picture of "Duke" holding Dr. Burkhart's picture makes me wonder if Duke's shirt is green or black. Also, I think the "Duke" reference in the top right panel is a typo, like in the issue with the Oktober Guard where "Flash" is later called "Grand Slam" (or vice versa--memory is slipping in my old age LOL!).
Not taking away from the custom at all. I love the black shirt with green pants look. Jason |

That's a great uniform for any Joe. The close-up panel definitely reads "Duke." Hawk's flattop is always more on fleek.

I believe they both wore this uniform, although Hawk's was very early in the run and was a colorist re-color of the V1 figure with a black sweater.
From an artist's perspective, it's always irritated me that artists managed to make Hawk & Duke look so much alike. Yes, they're both blonde hair and blue eyes, but they each have their own characteristics. Hawk, mostly due to Herb Trimpe's early designs, has squinty eyes/high cheekbones and an almost wiry frame- and a flat top/buzz cut. Duke, either by way of Sunbow or the great Russ Heath issue, has a fuller face/wider jaw and pushed back Brill cream hair style. But I rant. Last edited by Clockwise; 02-15-2020 at 09:59 PM..
