Okay, still work in progress. I need to paint the entire thing and do a few dry brush runs...
Take a heap of parts from Marauder and Build-a-rama... A plain old (2000 TRU) MOBAT... Add them together and you get something like this... I know it looks funny being in so many different colors... I still need to paint it...

More to come soon!!! I still want to put a few more antenna on the turret, like I did with the HISS tank I did a month ago.

Well, I have to be honest and say I think you've gone a little too far. Adding detail is good, but it needs to make sense.
Basically, the loose shells strapped to the outside, the infantry anti-tank missile, and 2 or 3 packs for every crew member is a bit much. The fuel cans & drum, the tools, the ladder are all good; the barbed wire I can work with though it's a little odd. The tarps are excellent. The ammo crates work. If it was me, I'd put those shells in a crate and leave it openable, and pull off most of those packs. The MOBAT has a crew of what, three? Driver, gunner and commander? (The loader and radio-operator being handled by automation.) So I'd expect 3 - maybe four - packs at the most. And actually, most of the pictures I've seen from WWII and 'Nam suggest that they tend to use ammo boxes and jerricans for stowage, rather than soft packs. It looks good, but sometimes a little less is better. In my opinion, of course; it's your tank and if you like this look, by all means carry on. |

Yeah it's a bit cluttered, but I think if you used the right colors it could make an awesome Dreadnok tank. It'd be hard to pull off though, the paint scheme could make or break it.

It does look cluttered, but I really think the paint is going to blend it in a bit more... trust me. I've been googling tank pics for like two weeks. Plus I'm not quite finished. I need to make support brackets for the oil drum in the back. That back end is so useless and big, it's hard to do anything with it.
Thanks!

For me, more is better, I like the cluttered look. There's just so much going on you forget you're really looking at a boring old Mobat. Nice, can't wait to see it finished.

a bit much on this one but i like the added detail!
i've seen pictures of stryker vehicles that look more like over burndened pack mules so a fully packed to the hilt mobat would not be improbable. it's not a fast tank like the mauler. what color are you going to paint it? which i could have traded you an og mobat for that '89 tru mobat. i'm looking for one to fill out my mobat collection. you can pick up the og mobats for dirt cheap on ebay, i've bought atleast 3 for less than $5 minus shipping.

i can see your vision Xero...i know it will be awesome...over the top?...maybe...acurate?...maybe not, but since when has g.i.joe or cobra been militarily accurate?...what has always been most important in Joe, apparently, is that it looks cool, and this certainly will look cool...
you need to somehow get some ammo belts on there, that, for no biased reason, was my favorite part of your HISS...made it look more ready for action... |
