I was recently reminded that all of my posts no longer had pics attached , due to a series of unfortunate events (thanks, by the way). unfortunately, most of those pics are now lost to the void, but I figured rather than try and go back to match the images to their posts, I'd drop what I have left here for... posterity? I don't know. If you've seen 'em, sorry for making you look twice, and if not, enjoy! and I'll add the rest if and when I can find 'em.

Thanks guys, I'm no longer doing wood dios, so I thought it'd be best to get these up in case I lose these pics as well ( I really am a bit of a dummy sometimes )

Sataninjaku your stuff is awesome and I wanted to bump this. Maybe drive up some commissions for you if anyone is interested in building a possible Zombie vs Joe tabletop game. Shameless plug: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...tructions.html
Just curious if you’re not doing wood dios anymore, what materials are you using? Also, what’s shipping like on your builds?

Thanks bro! And I'd call that a well deserved plug, your set up is awesome, and the game is totally worth checking out.
I'm actually back and forth on the wood- I had a table saw burn out, not to mention the shipping is a killer, but I dont want to sacrifice durability. Ive been playing around with styrene quite a bit, though still getting my sea legs there, and I've recently thought of creating my own lighter weight boards out of styrofoam that's been clad in either HIPS or HDF. Meanwhile, Ive still been using wood here and there, but most of those builds are small and underwhelming due to the reduced cutting capacity from the tool failure. Kinda why Ive had such a lull in project posts, actually. In any case thanks again! Edit: just noticed you'd asked about shipping, which can fluctuate wildly. When I'm spontaneously building, I try and build to fit in flat rate boxes to cap that, but some of them like the Atlantikwall inspired bunker was nearly $40, and that was here in Cali, and the really big one was an astounding near $400 to Texas- the fact that the guy pulled the trigger was an immense compliment. Naturally, I've been experimenting a lot to get that down without losing quality in the process. Last edited by Sataninjaku; 01-04-2020 at 03:22 PM.. |

Dio building is one arena I’ve always wanted to learn more about but I’m not skilled in table saws or any kind of powered saw, haha. The dios used in the game are all styrene except for the two I made (the gray checkpoints are styrofoam insulation board). The styrene stuff looks great but it’s a little fragile. The styrofoam board is durable but I wish I knew what I was doing when building. Do you have any pictures of new stuff your trying out? I’d love to see what ideas you have brewing. Also, what is HIPS and HDF? And what type of table saw works well? If you can send a link so I can get a price in my head

Definitely a well deserved bump! It's awesome seeing all your work in one thread. And I can vouch for your work. You see guys, he built me a Cobra Bunker a while back and that thing is freaking awesome! I would take pics but I have all my stuff that I'm keeping stored away until I get my Joe room built. Then I'll be setting up dios and shit.
You said you're not making wooden ones. Are you using foam or something? In the not so distant future I'm going to want another Cobra Bunker. |
