I was born in the late 70s, so when the ARAH line launched in 82 I was on board until junior high. It wasn't until my later years that I found out GI Joe existed in the 60s as a soldier and in the 70s as an adventurer. But being there's no space or money for vintage 12 inch AT Joes in my collection, I still have a soft spot for them and want them to be compatible with my modern Joe universe. Now I know we got the 6WD as a club exclusive about a decade back, but it was a simple repaint of a JvC era vehicle. So I set out to get my custom here as close to the original 70s AT version as possible, with some improvements. The base is a $2 Lanard The Corps! shell found at the local flea market and repainted. AT decals are by Hunter McGarry and Bad Mother Tattoos and Customs. Sarcophagus with removable mummy was obtained from an eBay seller in China for about $5. Thanks for looking.

Dude that’s awesome! Makes me want to pick up a 12 inch version for my AT Joes (which has eluded me for to long)

I "grew up" in the 60's and 70's, so I was the kid that played with those 12" figures. I had the Mummy set. You have done well with this custom. Check out the club AT 1/18 scale figures and sets.

Thanks Quartermaine. I have most of the AT convention sets. Their 6WD wasn't that impressive, just a repainted JvC Battle Blitz. I'm trying to complete the chopper right now (it needs missiles and the bomb), made a custom Air Adventurer, and the Sea Wolf II is easily amongst my favorite modern vehicles. Dr. Venom will also be getting a custom figure later this year.

My first introduction to GIJoe were the 12" figures. An older kid whos family was friends with mine, gave me the Adventure Team Mobile Command Center. I would use that with my 12" Luke, Han Leia and Obi-Wan.
