Surprisingly, I really liked FSS 8 and ended up getting most of it. A few of the figures, I just felt I need some minor tweaks to make them that much nicer (to me at least).
Grid Iron: I wanted to give him some of his vintage gear and I loved how he had football grenades on his leg. I basically added a holster for his long pistol as I didn't like the Hawk holster the club used cause the pistol for it didn't really fit and kept coming out. Since I wanted the vintage rifle, I figured I'd use a drop down leg holster for the long pistol he came with and another holster on the left leg that can hold his football grenades. Modded a vintage backpack for him too and relocated the handle on the long rifle. Recoil: All I did was gave him a cast vintage hat from Raginspoon. Was going to give him his vintage backpack too but decided that I like the Falcon backpack they used so I kept that. Payload: His head sat too high so I modified it to sit lower. I think it looks much better and with the lowered head, there is no gap (or at least not a noticeable one) between the bottom of helmet and the harness thing so it's a bit more realistic.

Looks great. What did you do to lower the head on payload?

I agree that it looks better. What tool/size did you use to make the socket deeper?

I honestly don't remember. I just looked at the peg and took the closest drill bit I had that was smaller than the hole. Drilled the hole deeper and then followed up by hand with the next size up.

I might give that a try on a cheap figure first so it doesn’t hurt if it ends up on the scrap heap.

So far as the tweaks on these figures go, they all look great. The Recoil hat from Ragin'Spoon is a must have for the character, and makes the figure just about perfect. -Todd Shakka85

Thanks, and like shakka85 said, always use a smaller size first and see if it fits because the plastic flexes.
