[Owner of a Lonely B.A.T.]

Simple custom Ive had in the back of my head for awhile.

Rampage.

For those unaware of this character, in 1985 G.I Joe gave us the character Heavy Metal (Sherman Guderian).

Strangely...in 1989 through mail in they offered the nearly exact same figure with nearly the exact same profile (Sherman Guderian), only he wasnt called Heavy Metal...he was Rampage.

It gets even more complicated.

In 2003 Rampage was once again issued as a figure. This time he looked exactly like Beachhead...only he was a black man. But he did get his own new identity in his filecard (Walter McDaniel).

It actually does get even more complicated in 2009 Sherman Guderian was reused again...as Speed Metal an all new mold, and Walter McDaniel looked like Heavy Metal again and once again was white.

So I wanted to sort that mess out...at least a little.

So I made Rampage...merging the African American personna, with Heavy Metal look.

Think of it as if Hasbro had taken the time to simply repaint the mail order 1989 Rampage and given him the profile from 2003.

Thanks man...it always just kinda drove me nuts that Heavy Metal / Rampage was kind of a mess. Then one day I stopped and said...well all the pieces are all there to make two separate characters so why not simply do that?

One day I'll sort out the Speed Metal part of that mess. But personally I just view Speed Metal as a completely different third character.

Nice. If you want updated parts look at the 50th SW legs. The greens match up real well. No paint swap. Thanks for the figure history!!!

Cool! Yeah, they really managed to twist his identity into a pretzel. I'd lean towards Speed Metal being an update to Heavy Metal, since the name has a running theme, but Rampage kind of seems like he should be his own character.
