I think you nailed the roster. Personally, the only change I'd make is replacing falcon with rock n roll. A second gunner would be useful for when the team needs multiple squads and there is a bit of a logjam right now in terms of leadership. Plus, no falcon means Stalker can get his beret back without falcon being bitter about giving his beret while a lower rank gets to keep his. Two berets are just the right amount I think...
Great work too. It reminds me of my custom team I mad to man the DTC Rhino, though I never got the head I needed to finish my hawk custom.

For me, he's on list he's tied with Clutch for 15th. As consolation for both, in my mind they're on the ground transport support crew/trio serving under vehicle commander: Cover Girl (obvious, right?). My T13 are indeed lead top heavy as you point out, but the T13 are the Joes that have interested me the most after all these years. In my head cannon, Falcon is not a lieutenant and is a young fresh recruit--who will has the potential to someday take the lead. For the other traditional leader characters, I think I've got figured out, and will post that subgroup next. Also, I really don't miss having berets for my guys in the field, putting it mildly. Blame Stallone and/or Dennis Quaid (although Statham didn't look too bad). |

Thanks for the comments! What head where your planning for Hawk?

Cool. That's the head I used, with some mods, for the same reason. I`m surprised you weren't able to get multiples--stocks of this guy seemed plentful at the time, compared to others.

I like that they offered three builds - average male, large male and female. I also liked that they brought a look of continuity to the group. However, when I made these, the lack of swivel wrists date the arms, and looking at them now, the forearms are too skinny for those hands.
I also like Scarlett having her singlet thing molded in...

So for the set below, we’ve got some major revisions to rank. We’ll get into the reasons later down the line when each is covered individually. Hopefully I won’t have lost you all by then…
II) COMMAND GiJoe_T13-03set1_2018-1006ab by J Perez, on Flickr Lady Jaye, Flint, and Hawk form the team’s command (along with Duke as NCO). Gathering all intel, LJ and Flint plan and monitor all missions, while Hawk mentors and advises (as he “juggles” with the higher-ups and runs other special mission squads under his command). They are mainly stationed at the Pit, but are mission-ready and available as needed. This command unit is sharp, resourceful, and is not afraid to improvise or think outside the box. These traits will be tested in full for the threat that lies ahead… 1) Lady Jaye (Warrant Officer): Team’s second officer in command (XO) 2) Flint (Captain); Team’s first officer (CO) 3) Hawk (Colonel): Team’s founder, Flint’s Senior officer Duke serves as Top Sergeant and senior NCO of the T13 team, and in my series he will likely see equal time in the field and at the Pit. GiJoe_T13-03set1_2018-1006bb by J Perez, on Flickr Behind the Scenes: Above depicts all four founders, where I tried to dress down Duke to “Combat Casual” LBC-style. Didn’t quite work as well as I hoped—too much armor that needs to be swapped out with different body parts in the future. For this sub-group, I really wanted to dress everyone down, unloading as much gear as possible, but still make them interesting enough visually. In the future, I’d like to circle back and create some more field-ready loaded versions the characters (along with a better unloaded Duke). But the looks shown here depict the primary visual concept of these guys in my head. Hopefully all still remain unmistakable. The Pit and TOC have many more characters, but the HHFF series will focus on these guys (main cast billing, as far as command is concerned). And there’s plenty of room for special episodes/issues with these guys going into the field (or handing other action-oriented plots//special assignments) As beef664422 noted earlier, my T13 is heavily loaded with iconic characters who are typically depicted in the cartoons as interchangeable leader-in-action tropes. Already having plenty of field operator action characters to follow (who in my mind don’t necessarily need that leader-in-action type, let alone 4 of them), the challenge was to tweak these leaders into different distinct roles which would help to define distinct histories and characters—while trying to keep enough filecard and comic influence as possible. More on ranks given, primary duties, and character dynamics to be revealed later down the line. GiJoe_T13-03set1_2018-1006ad by J Perez, on Flickr |
