Your Tiger Force and Python Patrol figures are some the best customs that I've ever seen. Excellent job!

Holy smoke man! This recent post of Tiger Force and Python Patrol is fantastic. Great colors that aren’t muted together with perfect saturation and some of the cleanest line work. Please tell me your secrets.

WOW! Just WOW! All four of these Tiger Force & Python Patrol figures look amazing! The paint apps are just spot on! Do you freehand the tiger and python stripes, or so you use some kind of stencil? The edges look like a factory paint app. Great work.

Thanks guys. These were an exercice in patience, the Python Patrol guys especially. The lines are painted freehand. Basically for the Pythons, I applied two coats of the uniform base color. After that, two coats for the lines. Finally, a touch-up coat of the base color to straighten everything out. It takes a while, but it came out cleaner than I was expecting. The same basic process for the tiger stripes. I don't worry if my stripes aren't perfect when I apply them. They get their shape during the last step when I reapply the base color to define them. Does that make sense?

OB ...buuut, with such thin, long stripes, I would consider going Ian’s route: painting all yellow, then putting thin tape over the top to mimic the striping, then paint green over the top. When dry, pull away tape to reveal yellow stripes. He also airbrushes, which I haven’t gotten in to, but he now swears by it. If you haven’t seen his versions recently posted, take a look! Anyway, what you did obviously works and looks stellar! I just wonder if WE work harder than WE have to... ;)

Cool! I was wondering how Ian had one those. Thanks Ozzie.
Real life has been crazy busy lately, so I have not worked on or posted anything in a while. That said, I have some customs that have been done for a while, so I'll try getting them posted asap. Getting started with a couple more Python Patrol members. Enjoy! OB
