The diorama is 5 meters wide, 70 cm high and between 50cm and 85 cm deep. It shows an expedition to a station of aliens long abandoned. It includes 20 human action figures, mostly GO Joe, Terminator Salvation and Lanard Corps. Their vehicles are a plastic Jeep with scratch built trailer, a tracked vehicle scratch built of pieces of a Jungle Cutter (Indiana Jones, Hasbro) and others, a customized Chap Mei Halftrack and a Hasbro Jungle cutter. The motorbike is a Maisto product and its driver a figure of the 1984 series Airwolf. The hills as well as the ET station are made of isopor and acrylic paste. I used mainly packing material. The alien station contains two Chap Mei aliens, about 10 robots that are Starwars and Terminator models. The monkeys inhabiting the station are from several manufacturers. The alien vehicle outside the station is a Star Wars Y Wing Fighter from 1999. The UFO hanging open in the station is a Transformers battle ship made by Hasbro 2010. The two vehicles on the ground in front of the station are a Star Wars Scout Speeder and a 2008 Star Wars Vulture Droid, both being Hasbro products.
Here is a selaction of 10 pictures. The total of 56 pictures can be seen on my blog: Dioramas 1:18 |

Sometimes I get my ideas from movies. This time some warhammer dioramas found on the internet brought me the idea to make a facility with some rusty fantasy equipment. As you can see, the "machinery" consists mainly of cans and of old cartouches of printers.

Wow, pretty awesome!
Edit- if you get a chance to pick up the recent Rampage monsters, they will fit right it. Also the wooden columns of the shelf could use a bit of deco (but not really necessary). I bet in real life the dio is visually overwhelming! Last edited by Bubbavader; 01-22-2018 at 11:25 PM.. |
