The original GI-Joe team, the result of my work in the last couple of months or so. As usual I am late in the game and there are many fantastic Original 13 customs already, and I don't expect that mine are better, but I finally got the time and material to do mine.
Basically my goal was to make them very truthfull to the original color palette (not in Snake Eyes' case) but not be restricted by it and then when put all together, these heroes look like they mean business. As things progressed I also decided that everybody would have removable and functional headgear. I will update the thread with the individual pics as I get them ready. - The Original 13 - by alexandre_ff, no Flickr - The Original 13 - by alexandre_ff, no Flickr - The Original 13 - by alexandre_ff, no Flickr The 13 + Shooter - The Original 13 - by alexandre_ff, no Flickr Last edited by Letal; 03-06-2018 at 09:04 AM.. |

Breaker
The color palette is a mix between the USA and Brazilian (Falcon) releases. Breaker by alexandre_ff, no Flickr Breaker by alexandre_ff, no Flickr Last edited by Letal; 03-06-2018 at 09:06 AM.. |

Flash
This vest and legs have been used before for Flash, I guess it was Dolemite from the forums that I saw using it first. This green shade is closer to the Brazilian release of Flash, Eletron. Grand Slam
I opted to go with the red and green and make his uniform fit for an artillery expert. I already have a new figure done for his v2, I just need to come up with a nice jetpack. The headsculpt is a modified Gen. Zod and I think he resembles Mr. Spock a bit, I think that is nice because of he's a science fiction fan. Grunt
I wanted to keep him rooted in the "grunt" aspect but somehow make him stand-out a bit more. Grunt by alexandre_ff, no Flickr Grunt by alexandre_ff, no Flickr Grunt by alexandre_ff, no Flickr Grunt by alexandre_ff, no Flickr Last edited by Letal; 03-06-2018 at 10:00 AM.. |

Hawk
I did not want to make a 1986 v2 Hawk version but still wanted to make him look like the boss in this group so I used this Captain America body. I like the bulky feel it provides. Hawk is probably the figure I like least among all 1982 releases and that's why I did not follow the original colors. Rock'n Roll
There were a few choices of heads to use with R'R, in the end I chose this one because it has long hair but still could be used with a helmet and because it matches a bit my R'R v2 custom (https://www.og13.com/forums/showthre...highlight=Rock). I also had this Star Brigade R'R figure and I am surprised at how nice this old head looks like, after a re-paint. I really like both choices, but the oficial is the one from Duke Dynasty. The mini-gun is made from pieces of SWs Moroff and Sarko Plank. When I saw that machine-gun-blaster I imediatelly thought of R'R and tried to make something that could "auto-store" the ammo ... It's a gun that can't be reloaded in the field but has an awesome capacity of destruction. Scarlett
Scarlett, Snake Eyes and Stalker, were customs I didn't have much interest in making because IMO they have some great Hasbro releases. Though in Scarlett's case, there hasn't been a release faithfull to the orignal color scheme. I also wanted to give her a helmet like everybody else in the group, so I made the ponytail removable. Finally I wanted to make here crossbow an acessory weapon and show her packing some real firepower. Short-Fuze
At the beginning of project the head I was going to use was the one shown below, removed from a Chap-Mei figure. As things progressed I ended up using Storm-Rider's head with this helmet (after completion I discovered Vitruviano used this same helmet in his awesome SF, maybe the idea was planted in my head and I didn't remember). Truth is I like both choices, but the one with removable helmet is the oficial. I also wanted to make him more than a mortar-soldier... I am not entirely happy with his mortar shells, someday I may return to it, and use HEAT-Viper's shells instead, provided that I also make a good backpack to carry them. I do love Sub-Zero's mortar repainted and mod though.
