It looks like we have a consensus. I declare this head officially "Vanguard" backed by the full authority of my status as a random person on the interweb. Last edited by Captain Hydra; 02-19-2018 at 05:15 PM.. |

Well, it's technically every Cobra character, within reason. I have to be able to justify their existence and role in the greater Cobra organization. I didn't set out to do this just to say I did. I'm doing it because i want these figures for my collection. So I'm not going to make figures I don't want for the sake of "completeness"
Cobra la was clearly a distinct faction separate from Cobra. They were an ancient race with their own agenda and motives. To call them part of the Cobra organization would be a stretch, IMO. For them to exist you have to also accept that Cobra Commander is an ancient snake being, which I do not. In my collection I use Serpentor as he is in the IDW comics. As a religious cult leader with his own following (the Coil) working in coordination with Cobra. In this case, Cobra La only exists in the beliefs of Sepentor's cult. As such I could make a Gol Lobulas statue or something, but I don't need a literal snake creature slithering around the battle field. There are some concepts I just don't like. I will likely never make fatal fluffys, the weird aliens or monstro-vipers either. BATs, Zombies, Neo-Vipers and a few V-troops are where I'm drawing the line right now. I try to go for a "plausible" reality where Cobra's advanced and unrestrained research is pushing limits. |

Incision from the Plague
Little noticed fact: Incision is the only member of the plague who does not wear a sweater. Probably because he finds them too itchy. |

I guess no one is interested in Incision. I get it, we've all seen him done many times before. So next up we have:
Viper - Shadow Division I've mentioned before that I have different cells and divisions in my Cobra collection. Shadow Division is one of those units. So these are not Shadow Vipers, as in the old figure but Vipers assigned to the Shadow division, similar to vipers assigned to Python Patrol or the Crimson Strike Force. Yeah those look bad ass. I am surprised of all the colors of the rainbow that Vipers come in, Black wasn't one.

I like Incision, but that's mostly because I like Nightcreepers. Don't know the character that well, but I assume they're from the Nightcreepers. Which is another thing I enjoy about the Plague, that the majority of them are big bads from specific Cobra divisions.
The Vipers look great too, you could do almost anything with that build and I'd like it. Like that you used the DG troopers mostly, I think that was a good call. Did you try them with a sleeved look before painting the Viper arms, or did you know right away that you wanted short-sleeves+gauntlets? |
