...Here is my MTF-style Lady Jaye. I really like the design of Lady Jaye from this fan art of Lady Jaye and Flint
... I had made a custom LJ head using an Angel Forge head cast and SW TESB Medical Frigate Leia face. I wanted my LJ to be able to swap out legs with the MTF Valkyrie figures. So, I did a little "chop swap" custom by combining the chest of DVD LJ with the torso of a Range-Ops Valkyrie. I also Dremmelled out the short sleeves and glued in the arms from a T--Shirt torso Valkyrie

I love these lady MTF builds. The MTF figures--I've been trying to keep myself from falling into that rabbit hole, and milking the old(!) Hasbro stuff for all they're worth for another few months.
But the MTF female stuff really fills a long time void in parts and heads. Your figures are a good showcase of what is available, and what can be done to fill some gaps in anyone's collection, and expand beyond that. Regarding your blog: Did you lose everything and have to start over?? Hope it doesn't take too much work, but I need that blog back up. I am a big time O13 fan, and your O13 work (builds, pics, filecards) is tops on my list. Jason |

Ah man! I appreciate that! Yeah, I think I lost the whole blog. I used a work email address to start the blog, and didn't think anything about it when I changed jobs. So, I guess when my old employer deleted that email address it closed the blog. I should have those pics saved in a file on my computer. So, I will definitely start a new blog - hoping I can keep that same domain/name.
Jason Either way good luck getting it back up and running.

OK, lame pun attempt aside, can we get a tutorial or some WIP shots of this Joe/MTF conversion for Lady Jaye's torso? I might like to try this. I'll keep nagging you if I have to.
Is the torso double articulated now? As in, once at the waist and again at the chest?

Is the torso double articulated now? As in, once at the waist and again at the chest? I don't have any work in progress photos. Basically, just took a Valkyrie torso (Recon-Ops Green/Brown). I sized up the Lady Jaye chest to where the breast are on the Val figure, and used that as a guide where to cut the Val torso. Then I started Dremelling little by little on the torso to get it where it matched the size of the Lady Jaye chest. The two pieces are glued together. So, the only articulation is the Valkyrie waist articulation. Now, I plan to do another custom using a different technique. On the next one I'm going to cut the Lady Jaye torso off at the belt, and then glue it to the very bottom (beveled piece) of the Valkyrie torso. Actually, I've got plans to do this for a custom Flint figure also. I'll make sure I take WIP photos on that one. For the arms, it was a simple cut and Dremel job. I cut the arms off at the rolled sleeved. Used my Dremel to make a shallow socket inside the sleeve. Cut the Val arm off just above the T-Shirt sleeve and grinded it down to fit the Lady Jaye arms. Thanks, Jason |
