Altering or removing color for canopies?

I have a feeling this is impossible, but I'll ask anyway. Has anybody ever removed the color from a canopy? Let's say I have the Sea Ray, and I want to make the canopy clear plastic instead of red. Is there a way to do this without molding/casting the entire canopy in clear?

I would say impossible because the canopy actually IS that color. It's not paint. Its red plastic already.
