We are always showing off our best work, but I thought it might be fun to show off those customs that didn't quite turn out how well you had hoped, and swore never to let another set of eyes see your personal monstrosity.
Below is my misguided attempt to make a 25th T.A.R.G.A.T. I had the extra jet pack, the sculpting on the head turned out great, and the sculpting on the arms and legs was going pretty well. But the torso wasn't turning out right, then the arm broke, and I lost all motivation or the custom or the character. what could have been. what about you guys? |

I know what you mean. I was super excited about doing a Scalpel... but just sort of got burned out on all those dang 'noks. So he's sitting in a big tube of parts (at the bottom of the parts box there's a "green-stuff" covered head that would have been Scalpel's "ready-for-surgery" look... Maybe eventually

here are 2 of my early attempts at customs.
The one on the right was suppose to be part of my Alley Viper Elite Razors, he was to be a heavy armor door breacher, was my first time using green stuff and I just globbed it on trying to make it look like padding. I might end up trying to paint it and see how it looks but I wasnt very happy at how it turned out though it ended up being good practice since this was basically the 2nd or 3rd custom I ever did. http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...er-female.html The one on the left was originally part of my Night Viper Elite Specters http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...-spectres.html . My other Specters werent painted in glow in the dark paint except on the optics of their helms and weapons for the evil eye looks. I tried to paint their color schemes in glow in the dark paint but GID paint is SOOOOO hard to work with because you have to put SOOOOO many layers on to get a consistent glow and the glow crystals makes the texture rubbery and sandy, it would gunk up the joints and adhere VERY poorly to the plastic because of the glow crystals, at least for the green glow, the red glow didnt use crystals so it went on much smoother. I managed to have a decent full glow in the dark figure on my second post of the spectres thread I linked above as a result of this failed attempt. I learned to paint a bright color under the GID paint. The worst part about using the GID paint is that you cant paint over it or anything, you have to peel the GID paint off and even then you are stuck with glow crystals all over the figure even after washing it.
