Been a while since I customized some figures, but my friend C.I.A.D. got me back into it. He loves the IGs and asked for only a Ferret and a few heads...
But I went ahead and one-upped him. I needed the practice. First was the Ferret he asked for. Pretty straight forward, using a common recipe and the kit from Raginspoon. Next was a head he wanted me to paint... Annihilator, but of course I went ahead and did the whole figure. I used an AVACs Lab head, vintage accessories, 25th Strato Viper vest and the Hiss Driver from the TRU pack. Finally, another head he wanted me to paint... but this was someone I really wanted to try and make. Oddly I used the Retaliation Firefly, and while he has limited articulation, I felt his body lended itself well to Darklon. I used Marauder grenades, vintage gun, AVACs Lab head and the lower legs of a Resolute Duke. (To get a little ankle articulation.) Shhh... I have a few more surprises up my sleeve.

Whoa, those are awesome! Question though---would you be able to pose these like regular figures without fear of paint chipping? Like the shoulder/elbow joints? Just curious.

They all look good. Always scared to paint over joints myself cause scared of chopping though.

As far as knee joints, just paint, dry, move, paint again, dry, move... after a while the colors will stay, if they chip, they chip... no biggie. I pose them on a shelf anyway and rarely move them around.

So yeah, I sent Xero a Roc Dr. figure, a Desert Viper and a few heads...and this is what he's sending back.
Absurdity. Pure & simple. |
