Thanks everyone. I'm following a fool proof air brushing technique (cause I'm a clumsy idiot) I'll post a few more images and then show you how it's done

Oh man, Heavy B.A.T. is insane! I don't own an airbrush but you might have just convinced me to take the plunge. I am eagerly anticipating your "how-to" post!

You're gonna laugh but the Cape is a cut ip T shirt. I'll start posting pics of my process tomorrow until that figure comes in for my video. Thanks!
Helmet - Red resolute Cobra Trooper but I'd recommend the POC alley viper helmet if you have it. head is a custom cast by Jokabofe it's the bad guy from Hell boy and it's $4 on ebay. the body is Iron Man 2 comic series War Machine. This is easy peezy stuff once you see how I do it Last edited by Jasonwelcome; 02-09-2015 at 02:06 PM.. |

My process for air brush Paint apps.
First I use - Duplicolor Filler Primer Seriously guys, you need to wear a mask it will make you sick. Put on 3 light coats. and you are ready. I also use Kyrolon Matte Black spray on occasion. This is the case for this figure. Pick your Paint. I use cheap ass Craft Acrylic Paint from Hobby lobby, some people say its no good but I have customs from 15 years ago that still look great so... I mix my paint with a thinner. Now...my 2 secret weapons TOP SECRET TELL NO ONE ;) Silly Puddy! I woke up one night and thought why am I using/wasting masking tape? Why not try silly puddy. I literally do my customs inbetween playing with my daughter or playing video games, (watching paint dry is not fun lol) Okay so I mask off the figure and paint the first color, let it dry and do 2 more coats. Then once its dry you remove the silly puddy and seal your work (for every stage) with a light coat of Matte Clear Spray Sealer. Repeat this step for the rest of your paint apps. Secret weapon number 2! A old artist paint brush and either Blue, black, dark/orange (burnt sienna, for flesh), whatever color you want and brush it on the face or clothing like make up. Then seal it with your Matte sealer because it will rub off. I hope this was helpful, I am working on a video tutorial that I will post once it is finished! all done! |
