These weren't throwaways because I had too many Firefly's and Beach Head's lying around, these are characters I actually like, and more importantly wanted to write filecards for.
SABRE TOOTH Same custom I made when the line launched, but I wanted to redo the card art. But the most appealing thing was to write a filecard for the character that wasn't arbitrary and harkened back to the canceled figure as a mystery member of G.I. Joe with a connection to Wreckage, who would later be created clearly as an homage to the Sabre Tooth idea. WRECKAGE Can't make Sabre Tooth without making Wreckage considering I mention him on Sabre Tooth's filecard. In creating a better filecard in the tradition of Hama's style, again I didn't want to make it arbitrary and completely rewrite the character from scratch. as bad as Hasbro's filecar is, it had to retain some connection to it. The only really interesting things I find on the original is that he is a practical joker and is from Los Angeles, so I used those as a basis to create a character with actual character. RAMPAGE The original Rampage figure is just a bad toy. on top of being just a repaint, there isn't anything about it that makes it seem like anything more and create even the illusion of a separate character. making the figure I went with the idea of a straight Beach Head repaint, but wanted it to also harken back to the card art of him not wearing a mask. I also preferred the black and gray color scheme of the card art. for the bio, the only interesting thing from the original filecard is his friendly rivalry with Beach Head. |

All of 'em look great. Love the better usage of Rampage. Looks like an interesting figure now.

the funny thing is initially I went with a lighter skin color to see how it would look against the darker uniform for conrast and it looked too much like Eddie Murphy in his classic SNL skit disguised as a white man, so I darkened it.

Do'h! I knew I should've done Sabretooth, as soon as I saw that promo pic Great job man. I always imagined Beachead, Sabertooth, Wreckage, and Rampage as their own unit. It's great to see Sabretooth's colors actually work on 25th Firefly.
And his filecard...absolutely awesome. Very cool nod.

Awesome work sir! I still say you should take over writing FC copy from Hasbro. The Rampage is much better than the previous release. Good call on the maskless version.
