I know Airtight has been done, but not quite like this.
Thanks goes out to badgumbo for staying up late to help me out with this one. Enjoy everyone.

Looks great. The colours are spot on and you did a great job with his chest thingamajig. I was sort of hoping you had his actual face under the helmet, but that's just a very minor nitpick on an otherwise excellent custom.

I had planned to, but the head that I had didn't work with the face mask that I put together foe the helmet. The head was to wide and big. My second idea was to use a torpedo head and paint the wet suit portion green but that didn't work either cause that head just sat to low on the figure, so this was actually me third option.

Great man. Matt Trakker gloves/lower arms were exactly what I was planning on doing. You've proven that it does indeed work great! I'm trying to find a desert Viper (with the BBQ body) for the base, but I haven't figured out what head to use yet.
I was planning on just doing the Wild Weasel helmet that I've seen others do, but that one works really well. What head/helmet is it? Awesome that it's removable! I have a pilot Biggs that I am stealing the head from for my Footloose, so since I'm parting him out, I planned on using his chest piece for Airtight, and without him in front of me, that seems like a similar chest piece. Also, Hawk thighs? I was planning on using them for my Footloose, but I may use them for Airtight and just bite my lip and buy a Dusty, since I need his shirt-tail piece anyways. Inspirational, my man. And great job on the paint. I expect yellow to be a MAJOR pain in the ass. Last edited by Mandingo Rex; 03-29-2009 at 03:09 AM.. |

Excellent job! You give us hope that Hasbro will give ol' Airtight the 25th Anniversary update.

Inspirational, my man. And great job on the paint. I expect yellow to be a MAJOR pain in the ass. here is the parts breakdown: HEAD:beachead, like I mentioned before this was my third head option, but I had planned on using Baron Fell from starwars but that head was just to big HELMET: Star Wars x-wing pilot, FACEMASK is a combination of torpedo diver mask with Mutt muzzle. TORSO:Snow Job CHEST PLATE W/COMPUTER ACCES:Baron Fell from star wars comic two pack UPPER ARMS:Airborne LOWER ARMS: Matt Tracker UPPER LEGS: General Hawk LOWER LEGS: BBQ Dingo to answer the rest, yes yellow is a pain in the ass to paint. So I highly recommend using the lightest base parts you can find and Desert Viper is a great idea, I thought of that figure as well but I didn't want to wait to try and get it and the more I moved away from the BBQ figure as a base the less sense it made to try and get that figure. I would recommend just getting the DUSTY especially if you are making footloose and airtight. You'd need double side pockets for both figs, would be easier to paint. Great choice on the Biggs head for footloose that is who I used on mine.

Loco, that's the sickest Airtight custom I have seen... very nice attention to detail and I especially like the removeable helmet. Very nice touch! Put him on a custom card and hook us up with some more of your work please!!!
