I had to practice the knit cap technique a few times, but I think I got it right on this one.
Basically exacto'd and dremeled off all of Shippy's sailor hat and smoothed out the top. I then used Crayola fusion modeling compound to form the rolled part of the knit cap. Body, Upper Arms: Commando Snake Eyes Head, Legs, Lower Arms: Comic Pack Shipwreck Let me know what you think! Last edited by Goin' Commando; 02-12-2010 at 11:33 PM.. |

Looks like I'm the first to post. Not bad buddy, but his neck needs to be painted. Keep on customizing!

I like the overall look...but man, those bell bottoms have to go. I know, I know...he's a sailor, they wear them. But to me, if he's supposed to be going commando style, you'd think he'd swap them out.
What is the hat from? Made from scratch, or from somewhere? I dig the over all look though...very nice. Dre |

Well, I have to say that I tried regular sculpey but it wouldn't dry. I was going to buy some air-dry sculpey but found the Crayola Fusion was cheaper and paintable, so I figured it was worth a shot. I give it an A+ ! I let it dry for several days before touching it, and it did harden up. The paint stuck to it very easily. The clay is only on the side of the head. The top is just the original head/sailor hat dremeled out fairly round.
