i'm sure you will get to the little nuggest you left in this picture in another thread so i'll look for an answer there but i have to know what technique you used to tint/color the sharc canopy? i already know what it's for

There is a BIG difference between the Regal Red used on the Red Tides and the Burgandy that's on the Urban Assault squad vehicles. I really like the Burgandy and hopefully I'll get that Conquest sometime soon! I can't wait to start that project,drool..drool..drool.

Excellent stuff, CobraCrimson! I've got a pretty big CG army, myself, but nothing as elaborate as yours... I might need a little bit of schooling on how to get the paint jobs as good as yours... the only painting I've done is to paint the eyeports silver on my "Fred" division as well as painting the bayonets silver on the AK-47s w/bayonets I score from Marauders...

That's a good idea to paint the visors silver, I haven't done that yet on mine, except on the Cadet class of 2009 that I'm working on now. That really makes them look better! One of these days I'm going to have to gather all of my CG stuff together and take some pics for here.
Have you scored any of the Hall of Heroes Cgs yet? I haven't and I'm still in limbo as to whether I'll get the entire HOH set, but rest assured I'll have an HOH CG in my army at some point...

Thanks, I don't really plan on getting any of the HoH figs at all. I'm pretty much done with the CG figures, maybe a couple more but I've already got 60 or so + a Python Patrol and 2 Desert CGs. If I keep getting more CGs that just means I need even more blueshirts then! I wouldn't mind that just the $$$$$$

Good catch arch, I used Tamiya X-27 Clear Red paint and brushed it on, so far 2 coats but need more. I almost tried Tamiya Transparent Candy Apple Red Spray paint so the brush strokes would not be an issue but I don't think the metallic in that color would look right for ......SPOILER ALERT! an IG Sharc(still need a name for it too! Any suggestions?) What color black did you use on your IG Rattler arch? Is it Semi-gloss or satin? I think maybe tonight I'll make a thread for the IG Sharc project.

ah, same stuff i'm using then. i've found the 1st coat to appear splotchy however the 2nd coat cleared it up nicely. i started with tinted canopies so mine appear much darker. the trick is to spread it on thick and quick to avoid the perimeter drying leaving lines. paint one surface facet first, let it run to one side and then paint the next, etc. avoid over run over an area you just painted. for the rattler canopy, i painted it on and stood it up so the excess ran down to the bottom and simply wiped it off. do not put tape on the painted surface no matter how solid it feels. i did this over an area dry for 2 days and it left an orange peel finish that i can't get rid of but thankfully isn't very visible from the outside. this worked for me anyway.
