First I'm hearing of this. I never would have guessed the vehicle shells belying that thing, I honestly thought it was 100% styrene from scratch. What SHOULD be common knowledge is that most toy designers (including Hasbro GI Joe vehicle designers) prototype new toy designs from existing parts... it's cheaper and less time-consuming that way. For example, you can find the back 1/2 of a SNAKE armor on the crawler/gantry of the Defiant shuttle complex, as a former Defiant owner I'll leave that to all the current Defiant owners to find. Phenomenal job in Frankensteining together all those different pieces, and achieving an end result greater than the sum of its parts. Your approach is "canon" and, thus, makes this thing look like 100% official Hasbro product!

LOL, why yes Mr Mayhem, they are. The problem I had was the shell of the Thunderclap is angled, so it was difficult to add axle stubs for the tires. The wire nuts worked here, but I will be going about it differently when I make more of these.

Strange... How the heck did I miss this? So yeah, this is big time WOW factor. I really appreciate the WIP pics too. Makes this thing that much more impressive. Awesome stuff!

Very ingenuous! I saw it and thought, that is a really good idea for making strong axles!

I appreciate the bump since I never saw it the first time around. That said, the pictures appear to be lost from the photobucket snafu earlier this year.
Does anyone have the pictures saved or bookmarked?
