Paint apps on this guy are pimp!
Spot on for colors and I love the use of the flames, but how are your air troopers going to fly now?

I forgot the recipe so I'll go ahead and give that first and then answer some comments.
Base figure was the Cobra Crimson Guard figure. That's about it. I sculpted the Helmet from scratch, and also the backpack was scratch built. The flame base was from a Star Wars Boba Fett figure with some modification to make it taller. I used hot glue to build it higher then painted it better. CAxxxFireFly: Thank you so much! MTN: Thanks! panzer: Thank you, I used the movie more than the comics for reference. Zefram: Thank you very much, The gum was in my head from the very beginning. I try to think of as many details as possible. Konigstiger: He's actually a Crimson Guard figure. Thanks for the compliment. I'll probably add those things shortly. Thanks for the idea. badgumbo: Thanks! A cast will be made as soon a I get the materials. They are being ordered now. I'll also make a mold of the backpack. After that It should be an easy paint job. Flame Viper: Thank you! MrClean: Thanks! Zartanman: Thank you, and Thank you. By the way Apollo is coming. xhairs: Thanks! Dr. Vile: Thank you very much. The little details are what make the custom. Also, I don't think those were my work in progress pics. Not sure who's they are, but I forgot to take WIP.s. Dr. Whom: Thanks! FRIENDSHIP! lol Wry1: Thanks, I'll keep them coming. Iron Will: Thanks so much. I haven't watched the Rocketeer since I was a kid, but saw some pics and said that's the figure I should do. Hope to keep impressing in the future. ROBULUS: Thank you very much! I have the movie on order so I can watch this again. Cant wait. MLos1: OOOH yeah. Connelly was every boys dream back then. Thanks for the idea. Booga: Thank you! A mold will be made as soon as I get the materials from where I ordered them. MLos1: Oh yeah. It's so simple with these GI Joes. I don't know why I didn't do it. The heads just pop off. Thanks for the idea. I'll get more pics when I put the other details on. sonoftimmy: Thank you very much. Rougarou: Hmm, I'm wondering who put these WIP because they are not from me. I was in to much of a hurry to paint him that I forgot my WIP for my figure. Thank you very much for your compliments though. I really need to remember my WIP for the future. GILTYONE: Thank you very much! bigbawsmcgraw: WOW. Thanks! 1SGHauser: Thank you. The flame base was an after thought, but I'm glad I thought of it. TANK_DRIVER785: Thank you very much! i<3COBRALA: Wow, thank you very much, I really appreciate it. The flame base was an afterthought but I'm glad I thought of it. darkshadow: Thanks, Have the movie on order and can't wait to watch it again, Ako Roshi: Much appreciated, thank you! Freedom: Thank you very much! Hicks_Royel: To stay this long on the front page is pretty humbling. Thanks. Shogi: Thanks! The head and backpack are scratch build. A mold is planned. Omegawrath: Wow, thank you so much, I really appreciate that. As for the paint wear, I did a lot of work on the leg and arm joints to give more room to move but I can't deny it might wear in some spots. Kalibus: Thank you very much! grnsuperman4: Thank you! Hey they gave me the base figure to sculpt over. LOL Unclassified: Thanks! The gum is when he puts it over a small hole to plug it up from leaking fuel. CallMeRotten: Thank you! G.I.Eddie: Thanks! That's how I try to make my figures, like statues. Some people like to be more paint accurate to the original figures but I like to consider it as realistic as I can. So thanks for the comment. Bernit69: Thank you, the head and backpack were both sculpted from scratch. Shogi: Oh yeah, haven't seen the movie since I was a kid. I remembered the fuel leak But forgot it was for luck. Thanks for the reminder. |
