Finally got my DG WV2 Duke so I can finish my Short Fuze. The vintage one had black webgear so now mine has it too.
Recipe: head - UBP Short Fuze hands and shells - AoCI Zap backpack - Retalliation Lady J webgear - DG WV2 Duke helmet, visor, and belt - I think 25th Flash rest - comic pack Duke

Waiting on wave 2 Duke for this exact same reason! He has so many key components. That gray helmet of his will go to Crankcase (it fits fine on the RoC Footloose head that I use on him). And once I score some brown Cobra Trooper web gear, I'll turn that gray Duke into a Sunbow Grunt.
Win! Win! Anyway, nice custom. ;) |

Pretty cool. Two suggestions - clean up the flashing on the muzzle of the mortar (great idea drilling it out) and do something with that belt buckle. What is that thing? What were they thinking?
Glad you did not paint the shirt pouches silver. I just noticed on Fuze's card that his PMOS was artillery. Mortars at that time were operated my 11Cs - Indirect Fire Infantryman. |

I like it! This really is a solid representation of the vintage 82/83 character.
The only 2 of the original 9 I don't have (for my 25th collection) is Grunt and Short-Fuze. I know they did release versions of both, but they were sub-par in my opinion. Now if Hasbro can only release a decent modern re-make of Monkeywrench, that'll complete my Dreadnoncks.

nice work on those figs. that short fuze is pretty perfect for what we have. except i actually prefer dg wave 1 duke's head as short fuze it looks most like the vintage head to me. i also prefer the DG buck because i like the upper legs better. the early 25th thigh pieces are too skinny and i dont like the way they look.
breaker looks great too. i also use that head |

Nice job. It took me a long time to piece together my own.
Question: Do we know if there is a place online where you can purchase a pair of glasses that would work for a Short-Fuze custom? I agree the Dollar Joe Duke head is perfect for our Mortar Soldier, I'd just like to give him some glasses. Anybody? Anybody? Smitty |
