The Classic MOBAT is based of the M60 Patton. The M60 is about 7m long. The M1A1 has a hull length of nearly 10m. So the M1 should be nearly half again as long as the MOBAT. Therefore, the MOBAT may not be as under-scaled as you think. |

that is most likely the case but, the little extra height of the 25th figures is really noticeable when paired with the mobat as well. it just looks really out of scale with them.

Therefore, the MOBAT may not be as under-scaled as you think. In all fairness though, although the smaller scale may look silly with the 25A after seeing a FOV/bbi Abrams keep in mind when this was originally made it was made for kids to play with. A true scale M60 or M1A1 would be HUGE for a kid to play with, not to mention the higher cost point would make it sell less as well. Look at the FOV M1A1. Target put them on clearance to get them out of the way, presumably because they weren't moving and taking up too much space. Bottom line - Kids (or their parents) weren't buying them. A little MOBAT on the other hand is cheaper and fits better in a toybox. And it still has a good sized gun to take out the underscaled HISS tanks..... |

The painting on my Bradley is almost done. I'm still having a problem with the paint sometimes crusting up and flaking. Some of this has been fixed, but I'm leaving some... it's "weathering."
My plan is to give this tank to the Crimson Guard. I can already imagine the Shadow Guards leaping out the back.

OK, I promised pictures so here they are. Please keep in mind that it's still a work in progress and I'm not much of a customizer. I was simply inspired by the rest of you to try.
Here's my 25th MOBAT. My only customizing was to add classic MOBAT stickers to the BBI Abrams:

And now here's my Crimson Attack Tank. This time I tried my hand at painting it the classic colors of the Sears exclusive before adding the CAT decals. It still needs some touch ups, but it's fun to play with.

Guys - the new versions of "MOBAT" and "CAT" look great!
I think I'm going to try something similar with PTE Abrams tank and Blackhawk helicopter to start. I also have a PTE F-18, which I'm trying to decide if I should paint white, grey, or leave alone (its currently grey/black camo). |
