Another one of my old favorites, customized 25th Anniversary style!
I had some extra leftover custom fodder from the two Resolute comic packs, and I was itching to make this particular custom. I'll split my comments and pics into two separate posts. The first one will be on the figure itself. The second post will be about the backpack and accessories. The recipe going from the bottom up: * Feet = Airborne * Lower Legs = Resolute Comic Pack Storm Shadow * Upper Legs = Flash * Torso = Flash * Webgear = Cobra Officer's (Scarface's) painted blue * Upper Arms = Resolute Comic Pack Storm Shadow * Lower Arms = Airborne * Hands = Flash * Head = Airborne * Helmet = Airborne's with the goggles slightly cut and repainted. * Mask/Visor = Vintage figure's visor slightly painted and attached to helmet with adhesive putty. As usual, I was trying to go for something close to the original vintage figure. You can't see it in the pics here, but I also painted the front half and sides of the torso all silver, kinda similar to what the original figure has. Instead of making the padding/armor look new and shiny silver, I also tried to make it look like Fast Draw's been using this suit for awhile now (hence all the dirt and sorch marks). Unfortunately, the vintage figure was none too pleased about losing all his stuff to the new guy (heh-heh): Last edited by Mog; 09-07-2015 at 03:30 PM.. Reason: Re-insert pictures |

Second set of pics and comments:
This is probably the first 25th figure I've ever had where I was forced to use the display stand to keep the figure upright. This is mostly due to the weight of the backpack. (EDIT: Actually, the figure can stand perfectly fine on its own now!) And yes, that is the vintage backpack, blue tube, missiles, and triggers you're seeing there. Here's the custom touches I added: * The old missile backpack is actually superglued to Resolute Comic Pack Destro's backpack. The old backpack's peg had to be cut off. * The thickness of Resolute Destro's backpack was trimmed almost 1/3rd to make the whole combined backpack not look so bulky. * Adhesive putty was added to Destro backpack's peg to help keep the whole combined backpack connected to Fast Draw. * The missile backpack itself was repainted a darker olive green and then given a "dirt wash" to give it a more realistic and "lived in" look. * The blue tube that connects the backpack to the mask/visor and the two triggers were also given a "dirt wash." * The two missiles were painted black at the exhaust nozzles and also "dirt washed." * The two tubes connecting the backpack to the triggers are from Resolute Destro. * These two tubes were also touched up with a little bit of black paint and superglued to the backpack and the triggers. Questions, comments, critiques? Last edited by Mog; 09-07-2015 at 03:32 PM.. Reason: Re-insert picture and added comment. |

Love that fig! When I was 9 I stole him from Hills and my Mom caught me afterwards, took the figure away and grounded me. Fast Draw will forever be my most controversial joe love.
