DO NOT USE ENAMEL! It will have a hard time drying if it even does, stick to acrylic, and you should be fine. Some people live by washing their figures, but I've never done it, lol
I do use medical gloves while I customize and I always primer my figs, so maybe that's why... I also sand down almost all jointed areas and spots that'll rub up against each other before painting. Hope that help... and yes, please use those links.. may sound or look like a lot of reading, but it'll help. Your best bet is to get some practice fodder figures, practice on those, even if they're figs you don't care for, it's a lot better than ruining something you like. |

Enamels work okay on the hard plastic, not so well on the soft. Use flat finishes unless something should really be shiny. I prefer spray sealers in flat or matte finish.

dude just can whatever you have, get acrylic, an you can use a primer, but not sure if this primer is meant for adheision. but wash your parts an dont touch em , pick em up wit' some paper towels for transport. acrylic water base paints, an sealer would be the same

Get the "painting" down first, worry about sealers later.

That's the problem. Everyone wants to be a "Rockstar" the first time out, and no-one wants to put up with the years it take to "gitGud". |

i wouldnt worry to much on the sealer just yet, i personally never used it yet. but the main thing here is, washin the plastic to get the paint to bond. a sealer aint sealin' shit if the paint dont bond. the paint lets go the sealer is coming wit' it.. adheision is the main concern ... but when you are ready to seal get a acrylic sealer in a flat or matte finish, testors makes some . same as the paint, like the one dude up there said, use flat paints, only semi gloss or gloss on certain parts , like say black shiny boots, or a helmet maby..
