Bravo, well-done with how you handled this. I applaud you. You MUST have a career in Customer Service, haha.
It's unfortunate a transaction never came to fulfillment for you and Aly, though, because I certainly think I would love to have pieces to add such an item to my collection. I know this isn't his name, but this figure is totally CLUTCH! Anyways, thanks. Like I said, Im pretty outspoken, I KNOW theres guys here that cant stand me for the things I have said in posts, I call shit as I see it. Hell on the flipside, Ive made a friends on here and one or two that I talk to all the time.. but ive NEVER screwed anyone on ebay or my collecting forums..

If you do list the figure on ebay, please let us know. I'm sure we would all like to keep an eye on it.
If you'd put a price on him, I'd do my best to buy him now. I am sorry for your trouble with Aly. He's a good guy, and I know he's been moving lately. To be fair, he has been really tough to reach, and so I understand your frustration. He's always been an honest seller, and is usually really helpful and responds quickly. It's a shame that two good tankers, and talented people are having trouble.

absolutely fantastic!...the fact that everything is removeable and yet he doesn't look crazy bulky at all is an amazing feat...the removable cloth piece is just icing on the cake...i mean, you could'a created a figure where the base was just a painted on green shirt, but you went way above and beyond...the pads rock so hard!...i love it!...great job SE
Every now and then, we see a custom that is so good that one has to step back a moment and realize the hard truth: Hasbro could never produce a figure this good, not for the price of a normal figure, not even a HOH version. This figure stands out for so many reasons: The obvious attention to detail, but also the way you've improved key elements - the Helmet and pads being obvious examples. Grid-Iron is hated by a lot of Joe fans. I've always loved him. His file card, though poorly written, offers a list of qualifications to rival any on the Joe Team. He's a combat officer, and we need all of those we can get. He came to us at an unfortunate time in Joe history. The cartoon at that time was just awful, and it destroyed the possibility of most fans liking the character they saw on TV. But I like to think that Hasbro intended Grid-Iron for grander purposes - just as they did for Lt. Falcon. I think Grid-Iron was supposed to be the new Leader Character - the new Duke/Flint/Falcon character for that year. And that's how I think of him. He's up there with those big name Joe Leaders. He just came to us at a bad time, and DiC murdered him before he had a chance to win our hearts and minds. ... but this custom may just be great enough to win them back, and give us pause to reconsider why Captain Grid-Iron may have been an overlooked gym of a character - a diamond in the rough of Joe continuity.

I sent a PM in response to your PM... have you decided what you're going to do with the figure yet?

I don't understand the hate for Grid-Iron. Nobody vocalizes this kind of hate-on for Hardball, and he represents a much less interesting sport
(Oh my gosh, someone needs to do a Battle Corps-colored mail-in style Hardball, Grid-Iron, Big Lob three pack. AMAZING.) |

If this is the one you were telling me about, you did a bad ass job on it. I like the use of fabric and the digital camo.

When DIC made their junk I found myself going solely to the old Sunbow episodes and the comics since I couldn't stand how dumbed down GIJoe had become. Grid Iron was really a bit of an idiot in those episodes. |
