Figures My ultimate ARAH style Duke by meandnooneelse

I wanted a modern Duke that would be true to the original figure. I saw one of Bucky’s custom Duke figures and borrowed his recipe. Here is mine:

He has a working holster that actually looks like a holster, unlike the 25th version which looks like it has a box randomly stuck to the side of his thigh.

He is made mostly of Recondo from the Assault on Cobra Island pack. Thanks to Turner for the Recondo parts! I couldn’t have made this custom without Turner’s generosity. His right thigh is from 25th Gung Ho. The head is from the POC desert strike Duke, with the orangey yellow hair repainted. The holster is from an old Overkill figure.


AND….


I also tweaked my POC Jungle Duke. I didn’t understand why he was made with unbloused pants. That’s like an invitation to leeches. I figured it would only be proper to give him bloused pants and jungle boots. I also added a holster for his pistol to his webgear. It’s in an odd place, but it works. I also just realized I didn’t get a picture of it. Oh well.

The knife on the leg is a great detail, i didn't noticed it! (i never had arah Duke)
I'm not really sure about the "skirt" you've kept of Recondo, but while I was working on my Duke (too!) I realized the green on his collar is a underneath green shirt, making the tan part not a shirt but a sort of jacket (call me obvious, but it's not that easy to note on pictures), I guess is because Duke was designed as a Hawk replacement. So, the skirt actually makes sense and separates him a bit of Hawk. *thumbs up*

Jungle Duke makes more sense with bloused pants, true. personally, I prefer the loose pants just for variety, but yours look great, the paint is spot on.

If i'm correct, the left leg doesn't get completely straight (because the shape of the knee), I think you can correct this by swapping the knee pieces (left knee on right leg, and the inverse) if I recall correctly (had the same issue before).

Pretty cool man, I may be in the minority here, but I would actually like to see Hasbro do an ultimate 1984 style Duke. Much like they are doing the Ultimate 1985 Snake Eyes with Timber for the Retaliation line.
